• VW Cup at Donington

The final two rounds of the VW Cup were held at Donington yesterday running alongside an impressive schedule of racing including the British GT, Formula 3, FIA GT1 world championship, Formula Ford GB  and Ginetta G5 Challenge.

The VW cup was given the early slot on Sunday morning at 9 AM. To the disappointment of many drivers in the Championship there was no qualifying and the cars were started in Championship order. The weather was unpredictable and the car lined up on the grid clad with slick tyres before the rain started to fall making conditions extremely tricky. Jamie who's current standings in the Championship started him 6th and after a carnage packed race he finished unscathed in 4th place.

Jim Cartwright looking very dangerous here battling with Championship winner James Walker was currently running 3rd in the second race when contact was made approaching the Melbourne loop. Unfortunately Jims car was damaged and he dropped down the order to limp over the line in 9th place.
